This light diffusing plastic film greenhouse covers a multi span steel frame with a PO or PEP multi layer film that spreads light evenly across the crop instead of concentrating it in bands. The film carries UV stabilisation and anti drip treatment, so it resists sun ageing and limits condensation dripping onto the leaves. Light transmission holds at 90 to 95 per cent. Span runs 8 m to 12 m, gutter height 3 m to 4.5 m and top height 6 m to 8 m, and the house can be extended span by span on the same foundation. It suits vegetables, seedlings and flowers.
Light is the raw material of any greenhouse, but how it arrives matters as much as how much arrives. A cover that concentrates light in bright bands and shadow between them gives an uneven crop, even when the transmission figure looks good on paper. This light diffusing plastic film greenhouse is built around that problem: the film spreads what comes through, and the multi span frame keeps the house extendable as the business grows.
The house is set out as repeating spans on gutters, each bay carried by its own arch and tied to the next, so the covered area grows span by span rather than in one fixed footprint. Gutters collect roof water and carry it clear of the walls, and the foundation can be concrete or ground posts depending on soil and wind load. Span runs 8 m to 12 m, with gutter height of 3 m to 4.5 m and top height of 6 m to 8 m, which gives both working headroom and the air volume that steadies temperature through a hot afternoon.

The cover is a PO or PEP multi layer film. Multi layer co extrusion is what allows the diffusing, UV stabilising and anti drip functions to sit in different layers, so each does its own job instead of competing in one blend. Diffusion spreads the light so leaves lower in the canopy still receive it, which matters most in the darker months. UV stabilisation slows the sun ageing that makes a film go brittle, and the anti drip layer stops condensation forming large droplets that fall onto the crop. Transmission sits between 90 and 95 per cent.

Ventilation can be as simple as roof vents and side vents, or run from an automated system where the crop needs tighter control. Because each span is an independent bay on a shared gutter line, the house is extended by adding spans rather than by rebuilding, which is what makes this design practical for a grower who expects to add area in stages. Standards published by DIN cover the structural and film test methods a project specification should be checked against.

The house ships as a kit of galvanized members, film rolls and fittings. Installation runs in a fixed order: foundation, columns and gutters, arches and purlins, then the film, followed by vents and doors. Our engineers can travel to site to guide installation when required.
Routine work is limited. Check film tension at the start of each season and look for any split at the fixings, wash the cover so diffusion is not lost to dust, service vent motors, and inspect pipe joints and braces for movement after storm season. Film is the consumable part of the house and is replaced on a three to five year cycle.

The house suits vegetable production, seedling raising and flower growing, and the diffusing cover is at its most useful where light levels are low for part of the year. Agritech reporting on AgFunderNews follows how protected production is planned and financed at commercial scale. Compare the multi-span greenhouse range, or look at the multi span PE film greenhouse and the multi span PE film house for other options on the same frame system.

It spreads incoming light instead of passing it in bands, so leaves lower in the canopy still receive light and the crop ripens more evenly. It matters most in the darker months.
The PO or PEP multi layer film carries UV stabilisation against sun ageing and an anti drip layer that stops condensation forming large droplets over the crop. Light transmission is 90 to 95 per cent.
The galvanized steel frame is rated for 15 to 20 years under normal growing conditions. The film cover is replaced on a three to five year cycle.
We provide a 10 year structural warranty and a 5 year anti-corrosion warranty on the galvanized frame. Details are set out in the contract for each project.
Send your site dimensions, the crops you plan to grow, the ventilation you need and your local wind and snow loads. We reply with a layout drawing and a full quotation covering frame, film, gutters, vents and doors.
