This glass greenhouse puts vegetable crops under a hot dip galvanized steel frame covered in high transparency glass, so the canopy stays dry and the light stays strong through the season. Multi span construction on gutters keeps the working floor clear and lets the house grow bay by bay. Span runs 8 m to 12 m, length 10 m to 100 m and height 3 m to 8 m or to order. Ventilation and shading can be fitted as roof and side windows, screens or an automated system. It suits vegetable, fruit and flower production.
Vegetable growing under glass is a decision about risk as much as about yield. Rain on a ripening crop costs more than any shortfall in growth, and a wet canopy is what opens the door to fungal disease. This glass greenhouse is built to remove that risk: a galvanized steel frame under high transparency glass, with the ventilation and shading needed to keep a working crop in condition through the season.
Glass keeps rain off the crop and holds its light transmission year after year, which is the combination that matters for vegetables sold on appearance and shelf life. Because the house is a multi span structure on gutters, roof water is collected in one place and the floor stays clear of posts, so beds, paths and picking equipment move freely from end to end. Span runs 8 m to 12 m and height 3 m to 8 m, which gives a trained crop the headroom it needs.

The frame is hot dip galvanized steel, and the glass is set into aluminium glazing bars on the roof and walls. Galvanizing before fabrication is what keeps the structure sound in the humid air of a working house, and it is why the frame is rated for a 15 to 20 year service life rather than a decade. Glass holds its transmission far longer than film and does not sag or yellow, and a damaged pane is replaced on its own without disturbing the crop or the frame around it.

| Service life | 15 to 20 years for the frame under normal growing conditions |

The house is prepared for the systems a vegetable crop needs. Roof windows and side windows move air as a stack, an outside or inner shading screen holds summer light down to what the crop can use, and a fan with wet curtain cooling can be added where the summer peak is high. Seedbed and irrigation systems fit the same structure, so a house can be specified once and built in stages. Standards from ASTM International cover the test methods behind glazing and structural performance that a specification should be checked against.

The house ships as a kit of galvanized members, glazing bars and glass, with foundation drawings issued against the site survey. Installation runs in a fixed order: foundation, columns and gutters, roof and glazing, then vents, screens and fit out. Our engineers can travel to site to guide installation when required.
Routine work is limited. Wash the glass before the light season so transmission is not lost to dust, check glazing clips and seals after storm season, service vent motors and screen drives, and clear gutter outlets so roof water leaves freely. Glass is not a consumable, and the frame needs no recoating.

The house suits tomato, cucumber and leafy vegetable production, as well as fruit crops and cut flowers, and the same structure covers young plant raising. Agricultural market reporting on Agriwatch follows how commercial protected production is planned. Compare the multi-span greenhouse range, or look at the Venlo glass house and the polycarbonate greenhouse for other options in the same family.

Glass keeps rain off the canopy and holds its light transmission for many years rather than degrading in the sun. Dry foliage reduces disease pressure, and the cover does not need replacing on a short cycle.
Roof windows and side windows for stack ventilation, outside or inner shading screens, and a fan with wet curtain cooling where summer heat is strong. They can be added at build or in a later stage.
The hot dip galvanized steel frame is rated for 15 to 20 years under normal growing conditions. Glass holds its transmission for many years and panes are replaced individually.
We provide a 10 year structural warranty and a 5 year anti-corrosion warranty on the galvanized frame. Details are set out in the contract for each project.
Send your site dimensions, the crops you plan to grow, the ventilation and shading you need and your local wind and snow loads. We reply with a layout drawing and a full quotation.
